Remote Hydraulics Install on Yanmar Tractor

yanmar tractor hydraulic system

NEW!!! Do this WITHOUT cutting your steel line

yanmar hydraulic system

What does this do?
Attaching a remote hydraulic system like this allows you to add hydraulic accessories like a log splitter, hydraulic blade, hydraulic top link, hydraulic auger motor, etc. By using an open center valve, the oil will flow along its normal route to the three point until you pull the handle on the valve. The valve will then divert the oil to raise or lower your hydraulic accessory. The oil flow to your accessory can be reversed by pushing the handle the other direction.

How to do it

*** You Must use an OPEN center valve and use one with a built in relief valve. ***

This is the only way to add remote hydraulics to your Yanmar and still have a functioning three point hitch.
Locate the hydraulic pressure line (small line) along the frame. Use the tubing cutter to cut out a section of the small high pressure side of the line in a straight section (not on a curve or your compression fitting wont work) in a place where you can get to easily. Remove all of the paint about 1" back from the cut ends and tighten the compression fittings on both ends of the steel line. You may need to remove the line or loosen it from the pump. To do this you may also need to remove the fender and step.

Locate the end of the small line that comes from the pump (this is the pressure line) and use the hydraulic hose along with the quick disconnect couplings that came with the kit to hook it into the inlet side of your remote hydraulics control valve.(See diagram at the top of the page). Hook up the return (the other end of the steel line that you cut) to the return side of the valve.

Now you can attach the quick disconnect couplers for the remotes. When you want to hook up an implement that requires hydraulic pressure (log splitter, etc) just hook them to these couplings.
