Head Gasket Orientation

Q- Can the head gasket be installed upside down.

A- Most models have a head gasket that is not symmetrical. There is almost always a hole or two on one side that is not on the other. Line those extra holes up with the block and it can not be installed wrong. There are a couple gaskets that are symmetrical though. These gaskets get installed with the metal bridge that goes between cylinders towards the head.
